RAWALPINDI (special crosspondent) – Under the strategic directives of the Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Salman Ghani, an open auction for two major parking plazas was successfully conducted by the presiding Auction Committee. The proceedings focused on the facility at Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazar, and the site located opposite the Tehsil Office Rawalpindi, marking a significant development for the city’s Rawalpindi Development Authority infrastructure management.

Auction Committee Oversight

The auction session was presided over by the Director of Estate Management at RDA, Iftikhar Ali. Key departmental oversight was provided by Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Deputy Director Finance Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director Estate Management Abdul Rahman, and Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud, among other essential personnel who oversaw the administrative transparency of the event.

Contract Awards and Financial Details

Following a rigorous evaluation of the bids submitted, the committee finalized the following awards: Mr. Zabiullah secured the three-year contract for the Parking Plaza at Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazar, at an annual rental valuation of Rs 64,715,000. Additionally, Waseela Enterprises was awarded the contract for the parking facility located opposite the Tehsil Office, with an annual rent set at Rs 4,685,000.

Transparency and Future Revenue Projections

The Auction Committee confirmed that all bids were scrutinized in strict accordance with established regulatory frameworks. To ensure sustained institutional growth, it was determined that the rental rates for both parking plazas would be subject to a 10 percent annual escalation. These facilities remain vital to the commercial landscape of Raja Bazar, offering essential parking solutions to residents, business owners, and commuters. The RDA administration has reaffirmed its dedication to ethical asset management, ensuring that public resources are optimized to bolster institutional revenue streams while maintaining efficient operational standards.
