ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, held a high-level meeting on Saturday to reaffirm the longstanding, brotherly, and close ties shared between Pakistan and Tajikistan. The dialogue took place on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, according to an official statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed a shared commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, connectivity, energy, culture, and active people-to-people exchanges. These discussions align with broader regional efforts similar to how Gulf nations develop strategic pipelines to bypass the Strait of Hormuz to ensure regional stability.

Strengthening Strategic Bilateral Cooperation

The ministers underscored the vital importance of maintaining sustained, high-level diplomatic exchanges to further strengthen the enduring bilateral partnership. Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin took the opportunity to reaffirm Tajikistan’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability, as well as its commitment to the peaceful resolution of regional issues.

In addition to bilateral matters, the two leaders exchanged comprehensive views on significant regional and global developments.
