Six Indian-Sponsored Militants Killed in DI Khan Operation; Two Soldiers Martyred
*Rawalpindi:* Security forces killed six militants belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in the Zarkani area of Dera Ismail Khan district on October 24, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing on October 25, the operation was launched following reports about the presence of militants in the area.
During an intense exchange of fire, six Indian-sponsored militants were killed due to the effective and meticulous conduct of the operation by security forces.
However, two soldiers also embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly against the militants. They were identified as Naik Ghulam Murtaza, 36, a resident of Gujrat district, and Sepoy Taseer Ahmed, 30, a resident of Talagang district.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who, according to ISPR, were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians.
The military said a sanitization operation was underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored militants who might be present in the area.
ISPR reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, until the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism was completely eliminated from the country.
The statement said the sacrifices of the brave soldiers further strengthened Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to safeguard the nation at all costs.
