Easypaisa Launches Shariah-Compliant Umrah Savings Plan with 5th Pillar

Easypaisa Launches Shariah-Compliant Umrah Savings Plan with 5th Pillar

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Easypaisa Digital Bank, in collaboration with 5th Pillar Family Takaful, has officially launched the 5th Pillar Family Takaful Umrah Savings Plan. This new financial product is designed to offer customers a fully Shariah-compliant savings and protection solution, enabling individuals to plan and prepare financially for their Umrah pilgrimage.

Integrated Travel Solutions

Under this strategic partnership, Easypaisa customers will gain access to comprehensive Umrah travel facilitation through an integrated arrangement with 5th Pillar Travel (Private) Limited once their savings plan reaches maturity. This service includes end-to-end support for visa processing, air travel bookings, accommodation, and necessary arrangements for religious site visits. This initiative follows broader efforts in the sector to modernize digital transactions for strengthening Pakistan’s business economy and financial inclusivity.

Plan Features and Flexibility

The product combines long-term savings with Takaful-based protection, catering to customers aged between 18 and 60. The plan features a minimum tenure of five years, providing users with the flexibility to make contributions on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual basis. Upon the maturity of the plan, customers are offered the choice to receive the total accumulated amount in cash or to utilize the funds for a comprehensive, pre-arranged Umrah package.

Leadership Perspectives

Commenting on the launch, Jahanzaib Khan, President and CEO of Easypaisa Digital Bank, emphasized the organization’s commitment to delivering financial solutions that align with the values and aspirations of its customers. "The launch of this plan integrates Shariah-compliant savings, protection, and convenient travel facilitation into a single digital platform, empowering millions of Pakistanis to pursue their spiritual journeys with confidence," Khan stated. Nasir Qureshi, CEO of 5th Pillar Family Takaful, added that the partnership significantly widens their reach, allowing the company to support families in fulfilling spiritual aspirations through structured financial planning.

Strategic Alignment and Market Reach

This initiative further bolsters Easypaisa’s portfolio of Islamic financial products. As the country’s first digital bank with over 60 million registered users, the entity remains dedicated to the State Bank of Pakistan’s vision of inclusive economic growth. The expansion of these services is part of a wider commitment to serve both existing customers and the large segment of the population that remains underserved by traditional banking. Much like recent technological advancements, including when a Google delegation meets Prime Minister to discuss digital infrastructure, Easypaisa continues to focus on broadening access to formal, digital-first financial services.
