Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan Inspects M-5 Motorway Development Projects

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, conducted a comprehensive inspection visit to the Jalalpur Pirwala section of the Motorway (M-5) to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing infrastructure and development works. The Minister was accompanied by the Secretary Communications and the Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA) during this official site review.

Accelerating Infrastructure Development

During the field visit, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan issued strict directives to project leads, emphasizing the need to expedite construction timelines. The Minister stated, “All ongoing development projects on the motorway must be completed as soon as possible without any further delay.” This push for completion aligns with the government’s broader efforts to improve national connectivity, much like recent administrative reviews regarding Ambassador Khalil Hashmi’s review of Pakistan-China economic ties, which aim to streamline development across key sectors.

Enhancing Commuter Services and Amenities

As part of his inspection, the Federal Minister examined the M-5 service and rest areas to assess the quality of public amenities. He specifically reviewed the cleanliness standards, newly constructed restrooms, and kitchen facilities. Expressing his commitment to enhancing commuter experience, the Minister asserted that passengers deserve world-class facilities. He further took notice of the under-construction mosque at the service area and ordered its completion on an emergency basis.

Prioritizing Public Health and Quality Control

Addressing the standard of food and beverages available to travelers, the Minister warned against any lapses in quality control. “There will be absolutely no compromise on the quality of food and beverages available at the service areas,” he stated. He mandated the establishment of a continuous monitoring system to ensure that all services remain consistent with high-quality standards. This emphasis on governance and service delivery reflects the same focus seen in recent initiatives such as the FBR’s fixed tax scheme for small traders, which aims to formalize and stabilize critical public services.
