Kuwaiti Defence Minister Meets Khawaja Asif, Pakistan and Kuwait Sign Protocol Agreement-2026
Rawalpindi, August 27, 2026: Kuwait’s Minister of Defence H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah, leading a high-level Kuwaiti delegation, called on Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif at the Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kuwait H.E. Lieutenant General Khalid Darj Saad Al-Shriaan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on bilateral defence relations, security cooperation and further strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.

On the occasion, Pakistan and Kuwait signed the “Protocol Agreement-2026”, significantly enhancing the existing framework of military cooperation established under the “Defence Cooperation Agreement-2023.”
Under the new agreement, the Armed Forces of Pakistan will extend assistance to the Armed Forces of Kuwait in various areas, including training, capacity building, border management and other mutually agreed fields of defence cooperation.
The agreement reflects the deep trust, mutual respect and shared strategic interests underpinning the longstanding defence relationship between the two brotherly countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the bilateral defence partnership in support of mutual security and regional peace and stability.
