KUWAIT CITY (special crosspondent) – The Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait has achieved a significant milestone by launching the country’s first-ever Pakistan Fruit Week at Monoprix, Al Asimah Mall. This landmark event serves to showcase Pakistan’s premium agricultural produce to the Kuwaiti market, fostering stronger commercial cooperation between the two nations.

Showcasing Agricultural Excellence

Running from July 25 to July 31, the event was officially inaugurated by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Zafar Iqbal. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including ambassadors from various nations, senior Kuwaiti officials, and prominent members of the Pakistani community. The initiative aligns with national efforts to enhance export potential, similar to recent strategic directives issued by leaders like Jam Kamal Khan regarding the expansion of fruit export initiatives.

The exhibition highlights a diverse array of Pakistan’s finest produce, including premium mango varieties such as Mosami Chaunsa, Nawabpuri Chaunsa, Ratol, Bela Wala Chaunsa, Lal Badshah, and Ratta Chaunsa. Additionally, the pavilion features seasonal fruits including jamun (black plum), plums, chikoo (sapodilla), and peaches.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade and Economic Ties

During his keynote address, Ambassador Dr. Zafar Iqbal underscored the global reputation of Pakistani fruit, emphasizing its superior flavor, nutritional profile, and quality. He stated that the event is designed to deepen the economic partnership between Pakistan and Kuwait while providing a robust platform to display the country’s agricultural capabilities. This focus on market diversification is a cornerstone of the broader strategic push to bolster Pakistan’s national economy through increased exports.

The Ambassador extended his gratitude to Monoprix Kuwait and the various Pakistani exporters who facilitated the exhibition. He encouraged all residents across Kuwait to visit the pavilion to experience the premium agricultural output of Pakistan firsthand.

Diplomatic Recognition and Cultural Exchange

The ceremony featured a unique diplomatic gesture when Ambassador Dr. Zafar Iqbal presented a commemorative FIFA Trionda football—manufactured in Pakistan—to the Moroccan Ambassador, acknowledging Morocco’s role as a host for the FIFA World Cup 2030 and his support for the event. A similar token was presented to Monoprix Kuwait management as a mark of appreciation for their partnership.

Following the formal proceedings, attendees toured the pavilion to sample the fresh produce and enjoy traditional Pakistani cuisine. The positive reception from international diplomats and local officials signals a promising future for enhanced trade relations, potentially building upon the strong diplomatic framework recently reaffirmed by Pakistan in various global forums.
