ASTANA (special crosspondent) – Kazakhstan’s newly formed pro-government Adilet party has secured more than 71 percent of the vote in the country’s snap parliamentary election, significantly strengthening the political position of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. According to preliminary results released by Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission, Adilet was established earlier this year and is supported by key political figures aligned with the president.

The party notably absorbed Amanat, which served as the country’s former ruling party. The parliamentary election, held on August 23, represents the first such vote since Kazakhstan introduced a series of comprehensive constitutional reforms. Under this modernized political structure, the former bicameral parliament has been replaced by a new 145-member unicameral legislature officially known as the Qurultai.

Despite this multi-party presence, political analysts observe that most of these organizations maintain relatively close ties with the incumbent government.
