ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – The Government of Pakistan has reversed its recent decision to temporarily reduce speed limits on motorways and national highways, reinstating the previously mandated speed restrictions. The National Highways and Motorway Police confirmed that the speed limit for cars and light transport vehicles (LTVs) on motorways has been brought back to 120 kilometres per hour. Concurrently, the speed limit for public service vehicles (PSVs) and heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) has also been reinstated to 110 kilometres per hour. This adjustment mirrors the restoration of previously prescribed speed limits for cars, LTVs, PSVs, and HTVs on national highways. Consequently, all road users are strongly urged to strictly adhere to the re-established speed limits, comply with all traffic laws throughout their journeys, and maintain safe driving practices at all times to ensure road safety.
