Commissioner, DIG Hazara Hold Online Open Court in Ghazi; Issue Key Directives on Encroachments and Police Arrests

*GHAZI (3D Media – Report: Javed Iqbal)* — Commissioner Hazara Division Shah Rukh Khan and DIG Hazara Jahanzaib Nazir Khan held an online open court with local elders and journalists through the newly established Police Assistance Line (PAL) office in Tehsil Ghazi, addressing public concerns regarding the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign, police actions and other local issues.

During the online session, participants raised concerns over the anti-encroachment drive, possible damage to private properties, police arrests and administrative problems affecting local residents.

Commissioner Shah Rukh Khan clarified that the administration had no intention of causing unjustified damage to anyone’s private or legally owned property. However, he emphasized that encroachments on government land would be removed in accordance with the law, ensuring that no citizen was subjected to injustice.

He directed the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Ghazi to immediately remove debris left behind after anti-encroachment operations and ensure proper cleaning of the affected areas.

Responding to questions about illegal settlements and constructions within the 200-foot limit along the River Indus, the commissioner said that a detailed survey and assessment of structures and settlements along the riverbank would be conducted after the completion of the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign. He reiterated that the government did not intend to deprive anyone of their lawful rights and that all actions would be taken after proper scrutiny and in accordance with the law.

Taking notice of difficulties faced by residents due to the weekly Khalu market, particularly traffic congestion and restrictions on movement, Commissioner Shah Rukh Khan directed the Assistant Commissioner Ghazi to take immediate and effective administrative measures to address the issue.

Meanwhile, DIG Hazara Jahanzaib Nazir Khan addressed public concerns regarding arrests made under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). He assured participants that everyone was equal before the law and that no innocent person would be kept in custody.

The DIG directed DSP Masood Khan to conduct an immediate investigation into the arrests and ensure that no citizen was subjected to harassment or injustice. He further instructed that anyone found not to have been involved in vandalism or rioting should be released immediately and with dignity.

At the conclusion of the online open court, local elders and media representatives appreciated the initiative, expressing hope that the directives issued by the senior administrative and police officials would be implemented in letter and spirit.
