ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call on Tuesday from the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, to discuss the critical humanitarian and security situation in Palestine. During the high-level dialogue, both leaders expressed grave concern over the ongoing conflict, highlighting the severe impact of sustained Israeli military operations in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank. The discussion covered the escalation of aerial bombardments, ground incursions, and the alarming rise in settler violence across the region.

Condemnation of Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursions

The two ministers issued a strong condemnation regarding the repeated incursions by Israeli settlers and far-right groups into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. They noted that these actions, combined with severe restrictions placed on Palestinian worshippers, serve to inflame regional tensions. The leaders emphasized that such provocative behavior violates the sanctity of the holy site and undermines broader international efforts to secure peace. He emphasized that the only path to a lasting and comprehensive peace is the implementation of a two-State solution. This framework, he stated, must involve the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and viable State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif serving as its capital.
