The Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait organised a dignified ceremony on October 27 to observe Kashmir Black Day and express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Prominent members of the Pakistani community residing in Kuwait attended the event.

Community Welfare Attaché Hamza Tauqeer performed the duties of master of ceremonies. In his opening remarks, he recalled that Indian forces entered Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947, marking the beginning of India’s occupation of the territory. He said that since then, Kashmiris around the world have observed October 27 as Black Day every year.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom until they achieve their right to self-determination.

On the occasion, First Secretary of the Embassy, Abidullah, read out special messages from President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The messages strongly condemned the alleged human rights violations and continued atrocities committed by Indian forces against the Kashmiri people over the past 79 years. They reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s legitimate right to self-determination.
A documentary was also screened during the ceremony, highlighting the hardships faced by the Kashmiri people, alleged human rights abuses by Indian forces and their ongoing struggle for freedom.
The event concluded with special prayers for the freedom of Kashmir, as well as peace, security, prosperity and development of Pakistan and Kuwait. Refreshments were also served to the participants.
