Petrol up by Rs3.40, diesel by Rs6.72 again; petrol up Rs24.96, diesel Rs22.26 since September 1

*ISLAMABAD:* The government has once again increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, pushing the price of petrol to Rs367.75 per litre and high-speed diesel to Rs392.67 per litre.

The price of petrol has been increased by Rs3.40 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs6.72 per litre more expensive. The new prices have come into effect from September 10.

With the latest increase, petrol has become Rs24.96 per litre more expensive since September 1, while the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs22.26 per litre. On September 1, petrol was priced at Rs342.79 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs370.41 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices have witnessed repeated increases and fluctuations during the past few days. On September 8, petrol was increased by Rs12.90 per litre and diesel by Rs3.72 per litre, taking their prices to Rs358.77 and Rs381.77 per litre, respectively.

On September 9, petrol was further increased by Rs5.58 per litre, while diesel became Rs4.18 per litre more expensive, pushing their prices to Rs364.35 and Rs385.95 per litre, respectively.

Now, with the latest increase on September 10, petrol has reached Rs367.75 per litre and high-speed diesel Rs392.67 per litre.

The sharp increase in fuel prices within just ten days is expected to put further pressure on transportation and freight costs, with potential implications for the prices of essential commodities and the overall cost of living.
