In a separate engagement, the Ambassador met with Nadeem Ahmad, President of Miracle Salt Works Collective Inc. (MSCI). The discussion centered on a significant $200 million joint venture currently underway between MSCI and the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC). This project, which focuses on the processing and global exportation of high-quality Pakistani pink rock salt, was lauded by Ambassador Sheikh as a model for value-added foreign direct investment. Such projects are essential as the business community continues to seek avenues for sustained commercial growth.
The Ambassador further toured Phoenix Instruments, a prominent facility in Naperville specialized in the finishing and distribution of surgical instruments manufactured in Pakistan. Following the site visit, executives discussed strategies to scale operations. Ambassador Sheikh advocated for increased U.S. investment in advanced manufacturing technologies and workforce training, aimed at transitioning Pakistan’s surgical sector toward high-tech, high-value production segments.
Concluding his visit, Ambassador Sheikh reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to cultivating sustainable, investment-led partnerships with the United States. He emphasized that such collaboration is critical for driving technology transfer, improving value addition, and ensuring mutual prosperity in the bilateral economic relationship, mirroring the broader efforts seen in Pakistan’s international diplomatic engagements.
