DPM Dar, Turkish Foreign Minister discuss further strengthening of Makkah Defence Alliance cooperation

ISLAMABAD, September 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Turkish Foreign Minister for hosting the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement in Istanbul.

The two foreign ministers reviewed progress on the implementation of the understandings reached during the meeting and discussed ways to further advance cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional and international situation. They discussed matters of mutual interest and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums.

The two foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact.
