Pakistani national team participates in Qazaq Kuresi World Championship in Baku

Baku, August 22: The Pakistani national Qazaq Kuresi team participated in the Qazaq Kuresi World Championship being held at the Baku Sports Palace in Azerbaijan. Pakistan was represented by Ms. Iran Shehzadi in the 48kg category and Mr. Mohammad Ehtisham in the 74kg category.

The championship is being held from August 22 to 23 under the auspices of United World Wrestling (UWW), bringing together athletes from various countries to compete in Qazaq Kuresi, the traditional Kazakh style of wrestling.

The participation of the Pakistani team reflects the growing cooperation in sports and close people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. The event also provided Pakistani athletes with an opportunity to gain international experience and further promote Pakistan’s presence in traditional wrestling.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Baku appreciated the invitation extended by the Azerbaijan National Sports Association and the participation of the Pakistani team in the championship.

The Embassy expressed hope that continued cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in the field of sports would contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing people-to-people contacts between the two brotherly countries.
